Rita Lavine's Obituary
Rita (Sciacca) Lavine, 84, of Liverpool, was escorted by the angels surrounded by love. Born August 10, 1928 in Syracuse, NY, graduated from North High. She was employed with NY Telephone, The Liverpool School District and St. Joseph The Worker. Known to all as ''Nana'', her passions were cooking and baking. She radiated love and happiness to all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Morton S. Lavine in 2010, her parents, Salvatore & Carmela Sciacca and two brothers, Rosario & Anthony Sciacca. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Lavine of Baldwinsville & Mark Lavine of Liverpool; daughters, Rosemarie "Rosie" (Kevin) Heneka of Mattydale and Linda Nodzo of Lyncourt; an "adopted'' son, Steve Putzer; 9 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family & friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd) North Syracuse on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Francis House.
