Rita A. Rinaldi's Obituary
Rita A. (Barnello) Rinaldi, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday with her loving family by her side. Rita was born in Syracuse and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School, before attending LeMoyne College and receiving her masters in teaching from Oswego State. She taught for many years and was a member of Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club with her husband, Angelo for over 20 years. Rita enjoyed golfing with her friends, playing tennis later in life and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Madelyn (Sposato) Barnello. Rita is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Angelo J. Rinaldi; 3 children, Angelo A. and Pam Rinaldi of Jamesville, Gina and Tom Loewenguth of Rochester, Nikki R. and Pat Platenik of Jamesville; 8 grandchildren; Caitlyn, Cameron, Corey and Cara Lee Rinaldi, Maddie and Sophia Loewenguth, Karley and Casey Platenik; her brother, Anthony (Mary Jo) Barnello of Maryland; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Rita’s life will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday June 23, 2015 in Holy Cross Church in Dewitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) on Monday from 4 to 7PM.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Francis House 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208 in Rita’s name.
