Robert P. Barnes' Obituary
Robert P. Barnes, 68, of Cicero, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Auburn, NY and retired from Carrier Corporation after 31 years of dedicated service. Bob loved to travel, although he was just as content at home spending time in his garden, on the water, or socializing with his many friends. He was also a big sports fan and enjoyed watching SU football and his favorite teams, the NY Giants and Yankees. His greatest joy of all however, was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Anne (Murphy) Barnes; his brother, Fred Barnes, and sister, Mary Anne Chvala.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marilyn (Knowles) Barnes; three children, Brian (Christine) Barnes of Huntersville, NC, Kelly (Daniel) Covel of Brooklyn, NY, and Michael (Jill) Barnes of Cicero; grandchildren, Jack, Nora, Stella, and Gwen Barnes; brother, Paul (Andrea) Barnes of Canisteo, NY; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 4:00 – 6:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Robert’s life at 6:30 PM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
