Robert "Big Bob" E. Antonacci's Obituary
Robert “Big Bob” E. Antonacci passed away on October 20, 2024, after a brief illness and battle with Alzheimer’s, he lovingly entered the arms of the Lord. He was born on November 26th, 1942, in Syracuse, NY. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963. He spent 41 years as a member of the UAW as an electrician at Chrysler Corporation. In his free time, he loved to bowl, cook, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and collected Olympic pins. He also served as a handyman for many close friends and family members. He loved spending time with friends and family, including taking trips to Las Vegas and hosting New Year’s Eve parties. Bob was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved watching his grandchildren play baseball. While being known for his infectious smile and brash sense of humor, he was most famous for his trademark Hawaiian shirts.
He was predeceased by his mother, Edith (Warren) Antonacci, his father, Emil Antonacci, and his brother Michael Antonacci.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoanAnn (Porillo) Antonacci; children Robert II (Michele), Michael (Mary), and Kathryn; grandchildren, Robert Antonacci III, Jordan (Madison) Antonacci-Brown and Jacqueline (Michael) Cimino; great-granddaughter, Nova Antonacci-Brown; his brother Daniel; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo and Cynthia, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob’s family would like to thank Dr. Picciano, Dr. Shukri, Dr. Malvasi, Crouse Health and Hospice of CNY for all of the loving care over the years.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a funeral Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. Robert will be entombed in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
