Robert J. Dempsey's Obituary
Robert Joseph Dempsey, 86, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday at his home. Born in Syracuse, he served with the US Marine Corps., during WWII and participated with the 1st Wave and Okinawa. He attended Assumption Church, where he served as an Alter Boy. Robert was a Steamfitter with Local #267 since 1942. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, John Dombroske and Arthur Dempsey. Robert is survived by his nephew, Arthur J. (Julia) Dempsey, Jr., and his niece, Patricia M. (Richard) More; great-nieces, Heather McGuire, Jessica (Shawn) Ellis, Dawn (Martin) Dumouchel and Kathleen (Vernon) Best and sister-in-law, Freda Dempsey. Robert's family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to his caregiver, Alexandra Okhota. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at Noon in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 1:00 PM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry., PO Box 550, Bridgeport, NY 13030.
