Robert N. Fenocchi's Obituary
Robert N. Fenocchi, 75, of East Syracuse, passed away at his home on Christmas Day surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bob was a loving husband and father, a kind, generous, steadfast and selfless man, always attending to his family's needs before his own. Bob most enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends at his Panther Lake Cottage.
Those close to Bob knew him as a reliable friend and listener. He was a private person who did not complain and took solace in his faith. A self made man and entrepreneur, Bob was the owner and operator of Guy's Service and later Guy's Used Cars and Spendless Rent-a-Car. For 40 years he continued and built a family business that has been a Syracuse north side fixture since 1935.
Bob had many interests, hobbies and collections that challenged his curiosity and thirst for knowledge in a variety of subjects. A disciplined, task driven and highly dependable man, he was an exemplary role model. To his family, it seemed Bob always knew the right thing to do.
Bob relished his time spent during the winter months in Singer Island, Florida where he and his wife, Carol enjoyed golfing, dining and socializing with a close network of warm and loving friends. He will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Guido and Zilpha and brother, Richard. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol (McGowan) Fenocchi; son, Jeff; daughters, Kathy Edwards (Gareth) and Christine; grandchildren, Jacob, Tessa, Katie and Christopher and his nephew, Guy (Deana).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandy Hook School Support Fund, c/o Newtown Savings Bank, 39 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470.
