Robert J. Howard's Obituary
Robert J. “Pix” Howard, 70, of Cicero, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Syracuse on June 7, 1950 to the late Robert and Pearl (Engler) Howard. Pix was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a dedicated employee at Upstate Medical Center for over 37 years, retiring as a supervisor. Robert enjoyed boating, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Robert is predeceased by his brother, Robert J. Nicholson and his special aunt who was like a mother to him, Catherine Engler.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan J. (Barrella) Howard; daughter, Tina Pavente; grandsons, Nick and Robbie Pavente; sisters, Carol (Rick) Piscitell, and Shirley (Tony) Squadrito, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral mass in celebration of Pix’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Assumption Church, Syracuse. Burial with military honors will follow at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, NY. Family and friends may call on, Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 4 – 7pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
