Robert J. "Bobby" Nicholson's Obituary
Robert J. “Bobby” Nicholson, 72, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Robert J. and Catherine H. (Engler) Nicholson. Bobby attended Assumption Academy and excelled in basketball. He loved watching basketball, especially SU and the Boston Celtics. He also loved singing and listening to “The Oldies”.
He was predeceased by his ex-wife, Doreen Ellis-Nicholson.
Bobby is survived by his son, Robert J. Nicholson (Patty LaRocco); his daughter, Denise Knaub; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Nicholson (Tony Squadrito); Dina & Tina Squadrito, who were like daughters to him; Denny Tyler, who was like a brother to him; advocate and close friend, Patty Nappi (Tom Dery), along with several nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephew and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 5 – 7 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Bobby’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
