Robert Michael Rickert's Obituary
Robert Michael Rickert, 67, of Cicero, passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 2, 2020 at the Francis House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse to the late Leonard and Patricia (Caveny) Rickert and graduated from Niagara University with a BS in political science. Bob retired from Pathfinder Bank where he was Assistant Vice President of Residential Loss Mitigation for many years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed golfing with the Merchants Bank League and bowling with his brother-in-law, Jerry Dubos. Traveling was another pastime of Bob’s; he made many trips to Mexico and the Caribbean. However, the joy of his life was his two grandchildren, who brought him much happiness throughout his illness. Bob is their special “Bopa” and they will miss him greatly.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his twin sister, Karen Elizabeth Rickert.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kristen (Pfohl) Rickert; his daughter, Courtney (David) Voellm; two beloved grandchildren, Harrison R. Voellm and Emily S. Voellm; a brother, Mark T. (Christine) Rickert; a sister, Karen P. (Jerome) Dubos; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 4 – 6 pm followed by a funeral service in celebration of Robert’s life at 6 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. He will be entombed at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
