Robert E. Shortt's Obituary
Robert E. Shortt, 82, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2021, with his wife, Nancy, at his bedside. Rob and Nancy were married for 22 years.
Rob was born in Syracuse. He is predeceased by his parents and three siblings. He is survived by his two sons, Gary and Mike; two stepsons, Ted & John Baldini; four grandchildren, Douglas, Kiley, Lindsey, and Evan; two great-grandchildren, Theo and Lorelai, as well as other family members.
Rob was a career computer programming specialist, providing services for Gaylord Bros. Inc. and Affiliated Computer Services. His most enjoyable pastime was fishing, with hobbies including golf, bowling, darts, and collecting baseball cards. He favored playing games of chance at choice casinos and winning scratch-offs. Rob was especially fond of the annual Adirondacks golf outing with Nancy and great friends. Rob was a kind, lovable, warm-hearted man with an exuberant personality and embracing smile. Rob will be remembered as being young-at-heart, with a keen sense of humor.
A funeral service will be held at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME on Monday, August 9, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 8668 Oswego Rd., Baldwinsville. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) in North Syracuse.
