Robert Daniel "Bob" Tarson, Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Daniel Tarson, Sr. (Bob), 86, of Cicero, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born on September 29, 1931 in Syracuse, Robert was the son of the late Frank and Victoria (Pitoniak) Tarson. He is predeceased by his sister Madeline, and brothers, Victor, Frank, Donald, and George.
A graduate of Central High School, Bob worked from a very early age for his father, delivering bleach and fabric softener to homes around the North Side of Syracuse. When his father passed in 1964, Bob took over, and hand in hand with his wife Joan, grew that small business into Tarson Supply Corp., and later, Tarson Paper and Janitorial Supply, Tarson Properties, LLC and Tarson Pools and Spas.
Bob enjoyed traveling, and in later years, he and Joan spent winters in Celebration, Florida. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Cicero.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joan (Mannion) Tarson, and his children, daughter Michelle and her husband Philip Wolfe; daughter Joanne and her husband James Leska, and son Robert Jr. and his wife Robin.
Bob was blessed with seven grandsons: Philip and Christopher Wolfe, James, Michael, and Daniel Leska, and Robert III and Ryan Tarson, and two great-grandchildren: Victoria and Emmett Wolfe.
“Uncle Bobby” is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, August 31, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Robert’s life at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, 8229 Brewerton Road, Cicero. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
