Robert J. Thebert Sr.'s Obituary
Robert J. Thebert, Sr., 85, went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on November 1, 2022. Robert was born on March 12, 1937 in Fort Covington, NY to the late Harold J. and Elizabeth (Brown) Thebert and graduated from Fort Covington High School in 1954. Bob enjoyed attending school and going to work. He began working in a grocery store in 1950 and in 1954 he joined the US Army, where he served in the far East in Formosa (Taiwan) and Japan.
But 1960 was the big year for Bob, it was the year he met the love of his life and future wife, Josephine M. Corso. They were later blessed with the arrival of “Little Bob”; he was truly a boy to be loved and a man to make parents proud. Together with his wife, Renee, they made wonderful companions to Bob and Jo in their final days.
Bob worked as a sales manager for the Quaker Oats Company for 32 years and during his retirement, Bob would travel with Jo and their amazing children. He and Jo were both active members of Calvary Baptist Church in Brewerton for 52 years and Bob even taught New Testament Bible to the kids for most of his years there.
Our gracious God blessed this family in magnificent ways all throughout their lives.
In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his loving wife, Josephine M. (Corso) Thebert.
He is survived by his son, Robert (Renee) Thebert, Jr.; his granddaughters, Jessica (Brad) Rosemeyer and Katie Thebert; his great-granddaughters, Courtney and Carissa.
A memorial service in celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church, 9251 Brewerton Rd. Brewerton, NY 13029.
Bob and Jo were long-time contributors to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to Make-A-Wish CNY, 5005 Campuswood Dr. East Syracuse, NY 13057.
