Robert Allen Valerino's Obituary
Robert Allen Valerino, 70, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Patrick “Pasquale” and Anne (Bagnett) Valerino. Over the years, Robert worked for Crucible Steel, Burns Security, Carrier Corp. and City of Syracuse DPW. He enjoyed traveling with Julie to Italy, Key West, Las Vegas and visiting his son in Los Angeles. Robert also enjoyed riding his Harley, collecting coins, watching movies, and the walking trails at Green Lakes and Clarks Reservation. He was also a skilled carpenter and machinist during his working career and while helping family members complete home improvement projects.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Jess Switalska; his son, Brandon Valerino; siblings, Patrick Valerino, Ron Valerino and Nance (Gus) Francisco, his significant other, Julie Mangicaro, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Robert’s life at 3:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery at a later date.
