Rocco J. DeLuca Jr.'s Obituary
Rocco,J. DeLuca, Jr. 85, of Camillus passed away Friday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Rocky fought a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Carbondale, PA and moved to Syracuse in 1965. "Uncle Rock" will be greatly missed, especially at Sunday dinners where he not only prepared but presided at the head of the table. Rocky was a key employee at Romano Ford and Romano Oldsmobile and moved on to manage Caps & Campers and Cicero Estates until his retirement. Rocky served in WWII with the US Navy in the European, Pacific and American theatres being awarded many ribbons, a star and a victory medal. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Lucy Romano DeLuca; 3 sisters, JoAnn (John) Serafini, Joyce (Patrick) McHale and MaryAnn (Gene) McAndrew, all of Carbondale, PA; Lucy's immediate family, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:45 am Wednesday in the Thomas J. Pirro, Jr. Funeral Home, North Syracuse and 10:00 am in St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford St, Syracuse. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Family and friends may call the funeral home 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford St. Syracuse, N.Y.
