Rodger G. Parent's Obituary
Rodger G. Parent, 73, of Baldwinsville, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Rome Hospital. Rodger was born in Syracuse and attended North Syracuse High School. He was a self-employed painting contractor in Syracuse, NY and Seminole, FL. Rodger learned the painting trade from his father and in turn passed this on to his 4 sons. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Ruth Parent, his sister, Judith Grogan and his former wife, Patricia Mary Parent. Rodger is survived by his wife, Sandra (Barrington) Parent; four children, Alan (Christine) Parent of Liverpool; Robert (Sherry) Parent, David (Amy Bayer) Parent and Michael (JoAnne) Parent, all of Hilton Head Island, SC; three step-children, William (Lorraine) Carpenter of Lakeland, Julie (Roger Haskins) Carpenter of Baldwinsville and Annette (Lawrence) Chesshire of Pennellville; ten grandchildren, Mary (Sean), Nicole(Toby), Alyssa, Kathryn, Rebeka, Robert Andrew, Jennifer, Laura, Zachary and Julia; seven step-grandchildren, Marisa, Mark, Joshua, Christian, Kayla, Daniel and Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Annabella and a step great-granddaughter, Annabella. Family and friends are welcome to attend a calling hour on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse
