Roma G. (Cesarone) Iauco's Obituary
Roma G. (Cesarone) Iauco, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Jennie (Pietrafesa) Cesarone. A graduate of North High School, Roma married the love of her life, Louis F. Iauco, 71 years ago. For over 20 years, she was a choir member and featured soloist at Assumption Church. Roma was passionate about music, reading and visiting with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose love will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Louis F. Iauco; 4 daughters, Suzanne (John) Cerrone, Dianne (Arizeder Urreiztieta), Marianne (Mary Blocher), and Mary Lou (Tom Bewley); her son, David (Stephanie) Iauco; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Elena, Marybeth, Nicholas, John, Johanna, Wil, Roma, and Belen; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn (Raymond) Rouse; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Roma’s life at 11:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s charity of choice.
