Ronald James Betts, Sr.'s Obituary
Ronald James Betts, Sr., 82, of Chase Mills, formerly of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Born in Syracuse, son of the late Peter and Madeline (Infanto) Betts, Ronald was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a millwright/welder for Eaton Crouse – Hinds for many years. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Syracuse and enjoyed classic cars, dragons, and most of all, helping others whenever they needed it.
Along with his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Sally Hammons.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Sandy (Meaker) Betts, children, Scott Betts, Ronald Betts, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Karyn Betts; grandchildren, Jennifer Betts, Ryan Betts, Cassandra Lenhardt (Brandon Chase), Nikki Betts, Davyn Betts, Jeff Hammons, Jenny Pena, and Cassie Liverence; great-grandchildren, Skye Schultz, Kyle Lingafelter, Lexi Lingafelter, Tyler Lingafelter, Rylie Bennet, Mason, Lilah, and Oliver Liverence; a great-great-grandson, Owen Lingafelter; sisters, Jeanette Mohr, and Barbara Sposato; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, Don and Karen Stonecipher, Jack Vesiloik, and Anne Marie Azzarello.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:45 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, immediately followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Ronald’s life at 11:00 A.M. in the church, 342 Vine St., Syracuse. Entombment with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
