Ronald F. Fowler Sr.'s Obituary
Ronald F. Fowler, Sr., 76, of Cicero, passed away on Sunday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse and served 8 years with the US Navy during the Korean War. Ron was a member of the American Legion Cicero Post 0787 and long standing member of the UAW. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator and owner/operator of Home Video Service. Ron was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero and had a deep, strong faith and devotion to God. Those that had the privilege of knowing Ron will remember him for his strong love and life-long dedication to providing for his family. He had a close bond to his friends, compassion for all of God's creatures and very proud of "his Navy". Ron retired from New Process Gear in 1998 after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Montserrat (Lej Serrano) Fowler; a son, Ron (Jeanne) Fowler, Jr. of Cicero; 3 daughters, Montserrat (Pat) DeSalvo of Cicero, Sue (Brendan) Welch of Maui, HI and Judy (David) Stanfield of Clay; 7 grandchildren, Anthony, Tara, Ariel, Jordan, Jacob, Patrick and Dani; 2 brothers, Richard Fowler of Syracuse and Gerald (Kathy) Fowler of TX; a half brother, William Fowler; brother-in-law, Jose Luis Lej Serrano; sisters-in-law, Carmen Lej Perez and Ana Maria Lej Perez of Spain and 14 nieces and nephews between the U.S. and Spain. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial with Military Honors will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
