Rosalind "Pudgy" Pascarella's Obituary
Rosalind "Pudgy" Pascarella, 81, of Jamesville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Charles and Anne (Mercurio) Simone. Pudgy grew up on the north side of Syracuse, graduating from the Convent School in 1950. She met her only love at age 14, and raised her children, and later grandchildren in an atmosphere of creativity. She was well known by family and friends for her cooking and baking, especially around the holidays. Her expertise at the piano and crossword puzzles were envied by many. Although she was a homemaker for most of her life, Pudgy cherished the friendships she made working at the phone company and later at Sweetheart Market.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Tony Pascarella and Roy Bernardi. Rosalind is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Pascarella; her children, Joe (Lynne) Tesori, Linda O'Neill, Kathleen Pascarella, Anne (Peter) Piraino, Donna (Bill Leasure) Pascarella and Maribeth (Cosimo) Basile; her grandchildren, Jaclyn and Joseph Tesori, John O'Neill, Bethany, Charley and Emily Piraino, Annie and Donna Mary Basile; her sisters, Donna (Joseph) Bonacci and Jacolyn Bernardi ; sisters-in-law, Esther (Henry) Pagano and Leta Pascarella; many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Vanessa Pagano who cared for Rosalind and was her "6th" daughter , and cousins from the Mercurio and Simone family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Rosalind's life at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
