Rosanna M. Senf's Obituary
Our loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife, Rosanna M. Senf, 69, of Central Square, NY was called home to the Lord on May 21, 2020. She was born in Gouverneur, NY and lived in Vallejo, California. It was in Vallejo where she acquired an immense love of her uncles cooking of the Philippines, Ghirardelli chocolates and love for sourdough bread. She later moved to Central Square, where she met the love of her life.
Rosanne is survived by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Senf, Sr.; daughter, Paula (Richard) Girard of Alberta, Canada; son, Raymond (Jennifer) Senf, Jr. of Central Square; daughter, Lisa (Dasiel) Senf-Perez of Onondaga Hill; 9 grandchildren, her brother, Damien (Lisa) Quitoriano of Napa, CA; a sister, Paulette (Tim) Wood of Napa, CA, along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother, Nina Burke of California and father, Parl Benner of Kansas.
Rosanne was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish, there she taught religious education for 30 years. To the many children she watched during her 34 years as a daycare provider, she will be remembered as “Aunt Rosanne”. She enjoyed camping, traveling, NASCAR racing, her pets, and vacationing with her family. Rosanne found her true calling when she became a grandmother; her happiest days were spent surrounded by grandchildren. She enjoyed cheering them on in all their pursuits. Family was her greatest source of joy and accomplishment. In her later years she and Ray traveled cross country back to California, camper in tow, with the newest member of the Senf family “Piper”, the family cockapoo. With her beloved brother as a personal tour guide, she fell back in love with the Napa Valley and rekindled her love of the west coast, showing her husband “her stomping grounds “. She also loved traveling to her husband’s Marine Corp reunions and meeting other veterans forging new friendships. Some of her most memorable vacations were visits to the Christmas markets in Germany. Christmas was her most loved time of year when she could display all her fine wooden German Christmas decorations that she was so proud of. The children will forever miss that quick 10 second call from mom on a random busy day reminding them “Frosty the Snowman is on channel 5 “. It’s these simple acts of love that we will miss the most of our mom. On her final days, she showed her family once again the power to love and the strength that comes from it. Never giving up for the ones you so truly love.
Rosanne will be missed by all that are left to cherish her memory. A private funeral mass will be held at Divine Mercy Parish with burial services at Hillside Cemetery, Central Square. A public memorial mass will be held in her honor, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Divine Mercy Parish, 592 South Main St. Central Square, NY 13036.
