Rose F. (Trichilo) Busko's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Rose (Trichilo) Busko, 92, who passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022, with her loving family by her side, after a long illness.
Born to Joseph and Nicoletta Trichilo, she was a life-long Syracuse resident. She graduated from North High School in 1948 and went to work for General Electric. She met Michael Busko in 1949, and they married in 1951. They resided in Liverpool until their deaths.
She resigned from General Electric in the early 1960s to become a stay-at-home Mom. She returned to work for Sibley’s department store, in the mid-1970s, from which she retired in 1988.
She enjoyed gardening, bingo, and trips to various casinos. She loved to travel and was a fantastic cook, who never used a recipe. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and was a warm, loving, generous lady. She was feisty, had a quick wit, a good sense of humor and had wonderful holiday and family gatherings filled with many laughs and much love. She loved her family more than anything and will be missed very much.
She is predeceased by her husband, Michael Busko; parents, Joseph and Nicoletta Trichilo; brother Joseph C. Trichilo; her in-laws, Andrew and Antoinette Busko; her daughter-in-law, Mary Sponenburg Busko; granddaughter-in-law, Diane Salva Busko; her niece, Rose Mary Methena; her sisters-in-law Anna Trichilo and Julia Lotito; several cousins; and best friend, Emma Sponenburg.
She is survived by her son, Michael Busko of Newburgh, NY; daughter Debbie Hearne (Jim) of Watertown, NY; daughter Karen Busko of Liverpool; son Bob Busko (Molly) of Clay. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Nikolai (Tiffany) Busko of East Stroudsburg, PA; Alexei (Brandi) Busko of Newburgh, NY; James Hearne of Beaverton, OR; Jennifer Cerne (Ethan) of Canandaigua, NY; Sydney, Sarah, and Michael Busko of Clay; great-grandchildren Jack, Grant and Emma Busko of Newburgh, NY; brother Vince Trichilo (Mary Ann Frio), of Liverpool, nephew Vinnie (Shawn) Trichilo of Liverpool; nephew Joe (Sylvia) Trichilo of Cicero; best friend Carm Frio and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
