Rose Ann Giacobbe's Obituary
Rose Ann Giacobbe, 92, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at her home on November 3rd, 2018, surrounded by her family. Rose, born in Syracuse in 1926, was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Josephine Giacobbe, and her brother, Philip Giacobbe. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church, a member of the St. Therese Society, American-Italian Heritage Association, and the Daughters of Columbus. She was a former employee of Niagara Mohawk and John Deere, retiring her career in 1984.
Rose is survived by her sister, Esther DiFlorio of Syracuse, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. “Aunt Rosie”, as she was affectionately referred to by many, will always be remembered for her kind heart, sympathetic ear, and never ending generosity. Those closest to her will undoubtedly miss sitting around her kitchen table to break bread, play cards, and reminisce about the good old days.
Calling hours will be held at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY from 9:30 – 11:30 AM on Monday, November 12, 2018 with a Funeral Mass to follow at noon; burial to immediately follow at Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court St, Syracuse, NY.
