Rose (Iacuone) LaMontagne, age 97, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born in Syracuse, NY and was a resident of Buckley Manor in Liverpool, NY with a short stay at Iroquois Nursing Home. Rose was employed with the East Syracuse Minoa High School District for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Altar Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister, and a continual presence volunteering at Blessed Sacrament Church. Rose was also a member of the Golden Agers. Over her 30 plus years of retirement she volunteered at the Francis House, James Square, brought the Eucharist to the homebound and often visited with patients at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was an amazing cook and baker. Rose loved her family fiercely. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur G. LaMontagne; her parents, Guiseppe and Concetta (Guardiani) Iacuone; her sisters, Jean Massamiani, Elvira Petragnani, Norma Safin and Antoinette DeAngelo; her brothers, Mario, Aldo, Salvatore and Joseph Iacuone Jr.; granddaughter, Renee Epps, and stepdaughters, Dianne Epps and Linda Simiele.
Rose is survived by her two daughters, Jeannine (Kurt) Noll of Manlius, and Michelle LaMontagne of East Syracuse; grandchildren, Nicole Cilani, Amy DeJohn, Cheryl Lynch, and Steven Epps; great-grandchildren, Adriana Cilani, Giovanni Cilani, Delanna Cilani, Jayden DeJohn, Jace and Ryder Cotton; her sisters, Dora Settineri of East Syracuse and Donna Lou (Norman) Kreitzer of New Jersey, along with many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 10:30AM. The cemetery services will be private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
