Rose Anne (Mazza) Magari's Obituary
Rose Anne Magari, 105, of Syracuse, passed away on August 8, 2019 at Sunnyside Nursing Home. She was born in Utica, NY to the late Guiseppe and Francesca (Leo) Mazza and was a devout catholic and a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. Rose spent her life taking care of her family and was very interested in history, even writing an autobiography of her own life.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Magari, Sr. and a son, Joseph A. Magari, Jr.
Rose is survived by her son, Frank Magari; her daughter, Nancy Anne Joss; her daughter-in-law, Caroline Mayer; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass in celebration of Rose’s life will take place on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
