Rose Marie (Peluso) Barilla's Obituary
Rose Marie (Peluso) Barilla, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 19, 2024. She was born in Syracuse on February 10, 1940, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Buffa) Peluso. Rose Marie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and selflessness.
Married for 64 wonderful years, she and her husband Pat created a beautiful family, celebrating milestones and holidays with unmatched joy. Rose Marie dedicated her professional life to serving her community, working at General Electric, the local school district, and the city, where she made countless friends and touched many lives.
Known for her kind heart and nurturing spirit, Rose Marie always put her family and friends before herself. Her home was a reflection of her love for the seasons, as she decorated with enthusiasm for every holiday, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for gatherings.
Rose Marie’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her husband of 64 years, Pasquale G. “Pat” Barilla; her son, Joseph F. Barilla (Patty Camerota); her daughter, Patricia A. Malandra; her three grandchildren, Joseph R. Malandra, Jennifer (Steve) Hart and Rachel Barilla; her four great-grandchildren, Carly, Armani, Kelci and Arabella.
Rose Marie’s family will remember her for her boundless love and unwavering support. She was a guiding light inspiring those around her to cherish family and celebrate life.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Rose Marie’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, reflecting Rose Marie’s spirit of giving and community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
