Rose Marie Mazzuca's Obituary
It is with love and gratitude for her life that the family of Rose Marie “Mimi” Mazzuca, 89, announces her passing to eternal life on September 2, 2015. She was born on October 19, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late James and Helen (Julian) Fida.
Mimi was a homemaker and hairdresser and raised her family in Eastwood. She enjoyed baking, music, old movies and had a great sense of style. Mimi will be remembered for her kind heart, lively sense of humor, love for life, God, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her life.
We also thank her wonderful caregivers over the years, Rosie Barber, Melanie Costello, Mary Yeschick, Heather Rice and Carolyn Marble.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Vincent Mazzuca in 1996 and her son-in-law, Anthony Bovenzi.
Rose Marie is survived by her children, Rev. Cheryl (Terry) Piper, Charles Mazzuca and Melanie Bovenzi; her grandchildren, Christopher (Carrie) Piper, Melanie (Eric) Costello, Charles Mazzuca and Julia Mazzuca, three great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Isabel and Carter; her brother, Donald Fida; her sister, Dolores (William) Bucci; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of “Mimi’s” life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
