Rose (Formica) Mirarche's Obituary
Rose (Formica) Mirarche, 94, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018. Rose was born to the late Sam and Mary Formica and was employed by Syracuse China for many years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of the Syracuse Women’s Bocce League for 38 years and volunteered her time to several other organizations over the years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony Mirarche; her daughter, Phyllis Spinks; brothers, Frank and John Formica; sister-in-law, Beverly Formica; and nephew, William Formica.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (Geoffrey) Maes; grandchildren, Janielynn Scholl, Bryan (Pamela) Maes, and Jeremy (Brooke) Maes; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Grant Scholl, Landon, Andrew, and Lindsey Maes; sister, Josephine (Michael) Nuzzo; sister-in-law, Catherine Formica; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her nieces, Kathy Formica, Donna Formica, and Laurie Davis for always being there for Rose when she needed them.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 9 – 11 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Rose’s life at 12:00 pm (noon) at Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church in Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
