Rose Mary (Kite) Nastasi's Obituary
Rose Mary (Kite) Nastasi, 93, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Onondaga Center on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born in Syracuse to the late Frank and Rose (Canale) Kite and graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy. Rose Mary worked as a secretary for the unemployment office in Syracuse for several years; following that, she devoted her time to being a full-time mom. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rose Mary is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Salvatore in 2015; her grandchildren, Matthew Nastasi in 2004 and Ashley English in 2008; her siblings, Frank Kite in 1996 and Margaret Romano in 2001.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Scott) English, John (Maureen) Nastasi, Gary Nastasi, and Teresa (Ben) Demmon; her grandchildren, Maria (Kris) Edwards, and Anna and Alyssa Demmon; her great-grandchildren, Owen and Parker Edwards; her sister-in-law, Carol Kite; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Onondaga Center for their compassionate care for the past five years.
Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Hope Church, 4845 South Salina St. Syracuse on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 9:15 – 10:15 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Rose Mary’s life at 10:30 A.M. in the church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt.
