Rose (Lazzaro) Tripolone's Obituary
Rose (Lazzaro) Tripolone, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. A resident of Syracuse, Rose was born in Palermo, NY to Vito and Maria (Torrisi) Lazzaro. She was the third of fourteen children. Rose married Bernard Tripolone who passed away in 1960. She raised four sons on her own and instilled in them the values of hard work and a good education. Rose always loved cooking for her family and made holidays extra special occasions. She also enjoyed going to the horse track and making her own clothes. Rose was employed by Syracuse University, Macmillan Book Bindery and Rockwell International. After she retired, Rose assisted her son, Philip, in his law practice.
Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by her son, Philip, and nine siblings. Rose is survived by her sons, Bernard (Bonnie) of Mattydale, Anthony (Gloria) of Liverpool, and Mario (Jodi) of North Syracuse; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Benny Lazzaro of Oswego; three sisters, Alfia Brace of Oswego, Jenny Munger of Fulton, and Grace Campbell of Central Square; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 AM on Monday, November 7, 2016 in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 AM in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
