Roselyn M. (Zingaro) Valentino's Obituary
Roselyn M. (Zingaro) Valentino, 85, of Baldwinsville, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of Phillip and Mary (Cutrone) Zingaro. She was a 1950 graduate of North High School and attended Powelson Institute of Business. Roselyn was employed with General Electric for 5 years and American Cancer Society for 16 years. In 1992 she was the winner of the best sauce contest at the Syracuse Italian Fest and was awarded a 10 day trip to Italy, where she met Pope Paul II. Roselyn enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cracking jokes, cooking, and especially spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, and three sisters.
Roselyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph A. Valentino; four children, Deborah Valentino of Baldwinsville, Kathleen (Jack) Root of Liverpool, Joseph (Susan) Valentino, Jr. of Liverpool, and Vicki (Anthony) Renne of Cleveland, NY; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; her sister, Marie Spadaro of Auburn, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 11 am – 12 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Roselyn’s life at 12:30 pm in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
