Rosemary (Parnagian) DiMatteo's Obituary
Rosemary (Parnagian) DiMatteo, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late John and Martha (Menasian) Parnagian. Rosemary worked several dedicated years with Triple AAA of Syracuse. She enjoyed traveling to various casinos. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Rosemary was a very kind-hearted special lady and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Victor DiMatteo, her son, John Michael DiMatteo, as well as her brothers and sisters, Victoria, Mary, and Harry Parnagian, who were very special to Rosemary throughout her life.
Rosemary is survived by two nieces, Martha Albanese and Victoria Schiano; great-nieces, Lisa Marie Leone-Casey (Michael) and Dina Schiano-Spiva; great-nephew, Alfred John Schiano (Lisa); grand-nieces, Lindsay Casey, MacKenzie Casey, Delaney Casey, Abigail Schiano and Eden Schiano; grand-nephews, JonMichael Casey, Thomas Spiva, and Sawyer Schiano, and her beloved, Karen Ferrara.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Rosemary’s life at 6pm at the church. She will be laid to rest with her husband Victor and son, John Michael at Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
