Rosemary Ann Lombard's Obituary
Rosemary Ann Lombard, 95, passed away after a brief illness on June 21, 2023. Rosemary was born to Mario and Louise Lorini on May 9, 1928 and grew up in Jamesville, where she was always proud to have sung in many community minstrel shows. She married Vincent S. Lombard in 1948. The couple lived in Lakeland, where they raised and celebrated their family together for 55 years, until Vincent's passing in 2003.
Rosemary was a career switchboard operator and receptionist, first as a long-distance operator for Bell Telephone, then for many years at Insurance Company of North America's Syracuse office, and for Gaylord Brothers until her retirement. She was a founding member of the Lakeside Fire Department Auxiliary, and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace/Mother Marianne Cope parish.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosemary was predeceased by her two sisters, Genevieve Fuller of Jamesville and Lucille Wood of North Carolina.
Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Carole Lombard and Pamela Lees, both of Liverpool, and her son, Ronald (Deborah) Lombard of Brewerton; her grandchildren, Kelly (Mark) Tucker, Vincent Cizenski, Alaidra Lees (Daryl Wilkie), Abigail (Daniel) Conroy; her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Hayes, Alexis Perkins, Aaron Perkins, and Hayden Wilkie; along with many nieces, nephews, and her dear sister-in-law, Olivia Lombard of Florida.
The family wishes to thank the team at Brookdale Liverpool, where Rosemary lived for the past 18 months.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. followed by a funeral service in celebration of Rosemary’s life at 11:00 A.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt.
