Roy B. Martz's Obituary
Roy B. Martz, 81, of Cicero, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a life resident of Syracuse and resided in Cicero for many years. Roy served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He retired from Marine Midland Bank after many years of service. Roy enjoyed watching sports, loved metal detecting and was a fabulous artist. He was predeceased by his wife, Christina (Mastroleo) Martz in 2007. Roy is survived by his brother, Arthur (Lucy) Martz of Geneva; his two sisters, Beverly Pompi of Syracuse and Shirley Scarvillo of Fairmount; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his best friend, George Becker. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Roy's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the New York Heart Center and to St. Joseph's Hospital, Cardiology Unit.
