Rudolph L. "Rudy" Vasteno's Obituary
Rudolph L. “Rudy” Vasteno, 85, of Liverpool, NY, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Funiola) Vasteno. Rudy worked as a Refrigeration Mechanic at Lockheed Martin, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of the Salina Seniors. Rudy was an avid NY Yankee’s fan; he also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dancing, especially the Jitterbug.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph Vasteno.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian (Boycheck) Vasteno; three children, John (Wendy) Vasteno of Baldwinsville, Lisa (Lou) Viola of Syracuse and Jeff Vasteno of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Kelly, Ally and Stephanie; one sister, Lucille Fava; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his beloved dog, “Buddy”.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Rudy’s life at 1:30 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
