Ruth E. (Parella) Luckette's Obituary
Ruth E. (Parella) Luckette, 77, of Baldwinsville, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on October 15, 2019. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (DeYulio) Parella. In her younger years, Ruth was a church pianist, including playing for the choir; her roles at church extended to teaching a girls Bible Club as well. More recently, she was a member of North Central Church, where she was a women’s Bible Study Leader. She loved to host parties any chance she got and enjoyed spending time at her camp. Ruth loved and prayed for her family, who will miss her dearly.
She is predeceased by two sisters, Anna Spinoza and Dorothy Rufo, and brother-in-law, Dwayne Schinzing. Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Richard L. Luckette; four children, Rick Luckette of Cicero, Renee (Bill) Sackett of Mattydale, Randy (Kristi) Luckette of Syracuse and Raquel (Daniel) Williams of Syracuse; nine grandchildren, Ricky, Brock and Ethan Luckette; Meagan and Joshua Sackett, Kaley, Jala, Caleb and Josiah Williams; three sisters, Lucille Parella of Syracuse, Jean (Albert) Rufo of Liverpool and Joan Schinzing of Liverpool; one brother, James (Carol) Cummings of Syracuse; brother-in-law, Daniel Rufo of Syracuse, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Ruth’s life officiated by Pastor Dan Williams will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at North Central Church, 7463 Buckley Rd., North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2019 at North Central Church, 7463 Buckley Rd., North Syracuse, NY.
