S. Wayne Notaro's Obituary
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, S. Wayne Notaro of Liverpool, NY, passed away on April 9, 2019. He was born in Buffalo, NY on February 16, 1940 to the late Leo and Angeline (Raosto) Notaro. Wayne graduated from Kensington High School in 1957, the same year he started his retail career working for the W.T. Grant Company. It was while he was working for Grants that he met the love of his life, Patricia Roedel. Wayne would go on to work for Grants until the store’s closing in 1976. He immediately started working for Fay’s Drugs, which was eventually bought by Eckerd. He retired from Eckerd in 2004. Wayne was an avid fisherman, enjoyed driving and showing off his latest car and being king of the tv remote. He bowled, played tennis and cards for many years with his friends. But mostly he loved spending time with his continually growing family.
Wayne is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Ann Colangelo in 2018. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; his children, Michael Notaro of Liverpool, Michele (Steven) Eckler of Baldwinsville, Robert Notaro of Minoa, Matthew Notaro of Brewerton, and Melissa Davies of North Syracuse. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Correy, Tori (John), Codi (Christopher), Ashley (Jeff), Sebastian, Kelsey, Brooke (Kandis), Brandon, Courtnee, Bradley, Madison and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Lilliana and Carter; his sister-in-law, Joan Ludwig; nephews, Mark and Richard Colangelo and numerous cousins.
A funeral mass in celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Liverpool. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY. Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
