Sam A. Caiello Sr.'s Obituary
Sam A. Caiello Sr., 86, of Mattydale, passed away Saturday peacefully in his sleep with his granddaughter, Michele Lefler by his side. He was a veteran of the Navy in World War II who was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. Sam owned and operated The Mayberry Inn in Cicero for 25 years and Sam’s Restaurant, located by Lake Bonaparte in Harrisville, NY. He was an avid bowler, golfer and a huge NY Yankees fan and Sam loved spending his winters in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Sam was predeceased by all 13 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Flora (DeVita) Caiello; sons, John Caiello of Manlius, Sam Caiello Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and a daughter, Anne Majerus of Mattydale. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Monday in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR.
