Sami Tawil's Obituary
Sami Tawil entered the presence of the Lord on Wednesday morning, December 26, 2018 at the age of 87. Sami was a loving husband, father, and grandfather devoted to his family and his country. He was a loyal member of the Shriner’s club and is most remembered for hosting the Syracuse community at his staple restaurants, including the Four Choice’s, for over forty years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Assad and Suria (Rezak) Tawil, and five siblings, Nick, Juliet, Elias, Mohine and Tatica.
Sami is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Tawil; his children, Lisa and Michael Muraco, Suria Hucko, Peter Tawil, and Jamal and Lillian Tawil; his grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Meghan Muraco, Corey, Julia, and Joie Elizabeth Hucko, and Claudia and Ross Tawil.
Visitation will be held from 11 am – 12 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018, with a funeral service in celebration of Sami’s life at 12 pm at St. Elias Orthodox Church, 4988 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Tawil family would appreciate donations to Hilarity for Charity in Sami’s honor, to support in home care for other families and their loved ones battling dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
