Samlane "Kai" Lathavong's Obituary
Samlane “Kai” Lathavong, 67, of Clay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Pakse, Laos and after emigrating to the Unites States, he served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Officer and 1st Lieutenant of the USNRC Command Headquarters.
He worked many years as a polisher/finisher for Stickley Furniture and in his spare time, enjoyed cooking, and planting vegetables and flowers in his garden. Samlane loved trips to the casino and above all, spending time with family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He is predeceased by Mr. Pomma, one of his closest Army friends, and his dogs, Angelo and Shorty.
Samlane is survived by his wife, Nary Lathavong; his children, Ella, Davanh, Tommy, Sandy, and Nancy; his grandchildren, Gabriella, Alena, Kaivin, and Kailiana.
Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
