Samuel Bovalino's Obituary
Samuel Bovalino, 106, of Syracuse, passed away June 13, 2022, at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Dominick and Julia Bovalino. Sam retired from Kilian Manufacturing Company after many dedicated years. He was an avid NY Yankees fan; he also enjoyed playing cards, playing the drums, and walking for exercise. Sam was a “snowbird” and spent winters in Florida every year for 40 years and was an honorary member of the Elks Club, where he was an avid bingo player.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Wilma Bovalino in 2004; his daughter, Julia Morse in 2006; his granddaughter Rebecca in 2014, and siblings, Michael, Joseph, and Carmen.
Sam is survived by his son, Samuel Bovalino; his daughter, Dolores Bovalino; 6 grandchildren, Samuel (Karen), Sherri (Roger), Peter (Barbara), Gregory (Cathy) Morse, Mark (Joanna) Morse and Deborah (William) Belica; 17 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; his brother, Frank (Rosemary) Bovalino; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Sam’s life at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s & St. Brigid’s Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
