Samuel A. Ferranti, Jr.'s Obituary
Samuel A. Ferranti, Jr., 79, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born in Syracuse, son of Sam and Felicia (Emmi) Ferranti. Sam worked for Zirilli Paint Company for many of his 30 years as a Tile Mechanic, and was a member of the Carpenters Union. After retirement, he was a driver for Enterprise Car Rental. Sam was a member of Arrowhead Golf Course with his many friends and looked forward to their yearly trips to Lancaster, especially organizing the food. His “Friday Night Group”, Wildwood vacations, and family trips to the Outer Banks were also favorites; but most of all, he cherished all the holidays, dinners, and time spent with his loving family.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, John Ferranti.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marcia (Tropea) Ferranti; his five wonderful children, Sue (Dave) Dzwonkowski, Mark (Antonietta) Ferranti, Lori (Tom) Harrington, Tracy (Bob) Richards, and Jackie (Rob) Price; 13 grandchildren, Jeff and Brandon Dzwonkowski, Mary, Matt, and Sarah Ferranti, Katie, Mike, and Jack Richards, Molly, Madeline and Mitch Harrington, Dylan and Natalie Price; his sister-in-law, Patricia Ferranti, along with two aunts, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Sam’s life at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
