Samuel D. Gross' Obituary
Samuel D. Gross passed away peacefully on September 20, 2020. He was 88 years old. Sam was born to William and Ruth Gross on July 7, 1932, in Plattsburgh, NY and grew up in the small town of Rouses Point, NY near Lake Champlain. He joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona where he was Honorably Discharged. After his military service, he moved to Syracuse, NY, got his electrical license, and started his own company, Gross Electric. His business was well known and respected in Syracuse. He was a regular at Crest Cadillac, an amazing dancer, and also an avid golfer throughout his lifetime.
Samuel is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Toscano Gross, (pre-deceased by first wife, Shari in 1979), his son, Scott and daughter, Susie; his stepson, David Toscano; his sister, Vicki, as well as his devoted grandchildren, Phoebe, Rhimmon, and Oren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 11 am – 12 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
