Samuel A. Piazza, Sr.'s Obituary
Samuel A. Piazza, Sr., 76, of Cicero, passed away May 29, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Alfieri) Piazza. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and his family was most important to him. He was loved by so many. His humor and smile lit up the room. Samuel was an avid Yankee fan but also enjoyed watching the Mets with his wife. He loved listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Samuel will be truly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his oldest son, Samuel A. Piazza, Jr., his sister, Rosanne (Piazza) Olmsted and brother-in-law, Frank Fortino.
Samuel is survived by his beloved wife of almost 56 years, Mary M. (Marra) Piazza; two sons, Michael D. Piazza of Ft. Lauderdale and Mark J. (Karla) Piazza of Baldwinsville; his daughter, Suzanne F. Piazza-Pruitt (Matthew) of Cicero; four grandchildren, Joshua Samuel Piazza, Justin Piazza, Nicholas Piazza and Nathan Samuel Piazza; his brother, Thomas (Frances) Piazza; sister-in-law, Diane Fortino, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Samuel’s life will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, June 3, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
