Samuel A. Tassone's Obituary
Samuel A. Tassone, 80, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Raschella) Tassone, whom were first generation Italian immigrants. Sam received his Business Degree and was a dedicated manager in the warehouse and transportation industry with a career spanning over 50 years. Most recently with US Veterinary Products in Liverpool, NY where he worked until he became ill in May. Sam was a member of St. Michael’s Parish. He loved spending time with his family, making people laugh, Disney vacations, attending concerts and sporting events of his grandchildren whom he idolized. Sam cherished his wife, golf, tennis, pickleball, fishing and playing family games of poker. He spent his life trying to make the lives of all those around him better, in a special way that will never be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his in-laws, Dick and Susie Nappa; brothers-in-law, Tom Erwin and Rodney McCabe.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Debbie (Nappa) Tassone; his children, Dan (Lauren) Tassone, Cindy (Paul) Donovan, Wendy (Al) Peters, Jessica (Dave) Fisselbrand, John (Aimee) Tassone; grandchildren, Jason and Brandon Ashley, Kyle and Julia Tassone, Alison and Morgan Donovan, Jack and Adriana Tassone, and Molly Fisselbrand; siblings, Robert (Maryanne Patulski) Tassone; sisters-in-law, Cindy McCabe, Kathi (Kutz) Guanciale, and Laurie Erwin, along with his special nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Sam’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael/St. Peter Church, 4781 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse. He will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
