Sandra J. "Betty" Hedrick's Obituary
Sandra J. ”Betty” Hedrick, 61, a lifelong resident of Eastwood and Central Square, passed away suddenly and peacefully at her home on Monday, July 21, 2014. She retired from Verizon after 30 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed her talents of being an excellent cook and baker for her husband, family and friends, always ready to bring and share a dish.
Sandra loved to shop and she could always find the “impossible to find” items. She also volunteered at the Cicero American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary as Chaplin. Sandra and her loving husband Richard enjoyed traveling together and took several cruises and trips throughout the years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Stephanie (Mazgala) Herbacynko.
Sandra is survived by her devoted husband of 16 years, Richard Hedrick; her sister, Sharle (Steve) Tassone; three nieces, Alyssa, Alexis, and Aryn Tassone; her step-children, Jeffrey, Alisha and Ryan Hedrick; mother-in-law, Beverly Hedrick; brother-in-law, Robert Hedrick, and sister-in-law, Yvonne Toscano.
A funeral mass with Rev. John DeLorenzo in celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Transfiguration Church. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
