Santina Sindoni's Obituary
Santina Sindoni, 93, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 after a long illness. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse, and a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei /St. Peter Church. She was also a member of the Pompei and Holy Trinity Senior Groups.
Aunt Tina, as she was fondly called, was very proud of her Italian heritage. She loved family events and holidays, and was always proud of all family member accomplishments.
Santina began her career at Markson’s Furniture Store. She retired from the City of Syracuse, Department of Finance Bureau of Accounts.
Santina was predeceased by her parents, John and Catherine Sindoni; sisters, Josephine Nicoletti (Gregory Finocchio, Angelo Nicoletti), Gen Vavonese, Angeline Lamanna (Anthony); brothers, Joseph (Angela), Paul; and brother-in-law, Joseph Pitonzo.
She is survived by her sister, Antoinette Pitonzo; her brother-in-law, Frank Vavonese; sister-in-law, Susan Sindoni; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A calling hour for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 10:45 am on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, followed by a funeral mass celebrated by her nephew, Rev. Charles Vavonese, at 11:00 am at the church. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME is handling funeral arrangements.
