Stanley J. "Stan" Colella's Obituary
Stanley J. "Stan" Colella, 86, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the Francis House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Stanley and Assunta (Dettor) Colella. Stan was a US Army veteran. He was an automobile dealer at Colella Auto Sales for many years, where he worked with his brother Nick who passed away in 2008. Stan was an active member of the Moose Lodge 625, Milton Avenue, Syracuse. He spent as much time as possible doing what he loved, listening to music, dancing and singing. Stan also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Stan was predeceased by his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Grace (Squadrito) Colella; four children, Dale A. (Pattie) Colella of Liverpool, Desiree (Thomas) Geremia of Syracuse, Aaron David and Brant Colella, both of Portland, OR; five grandchildren, Dane Colella, Torey Colella, Jonah Geremia, Rosa Geremia and Peter Geremia; a sister, Suzanne Serino of Syracuse along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service in celebration of Stan's life will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
