Stanley E. "Smitty" Sakowski's Obituary
Stanley E. “Smitty” Sakowski, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Frank and Mary (Gorecki) Sakowski. Stanley served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Teamsters Local 317, Eastwood American Legion and Drumlins Country Club. Stanley was a driver for Quick Deliveries and Longley Jones. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and cooking.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ramona J. Sakowski in 2002.
Stanley is survived by his two sons, Paul Sakowski (Brian Fairbanks) of Syracuse and Henry Czajak of Texas; his daughter, Cancace M. York of Brewerton; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his granddaughter and caregiver, Cassandra Keeler of Liverpool and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Attilio’s Restaurant, 700 North Salina St., Syracuse.
