Stavroula Katholos' Obituary
Stavroula Katholos, born on June 29, 1935, in Sparta, Greece, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Friday, March 20, 2026.
She was the beloved wife of the late Haralambos Katholos, with whom she shared 55 beautiful years of marriage rooted in devotion, strength, and unwavering love.
Stavroula was a deeply loving and devoted mother to her three daughters, Katherine Turner (Bill Reilly), Georgia (Thomas) Queri, and Elaine (Jeff) Katholos-Jungsten, and a cherished mother-in-law. She was a proud and adoring grandmother (Yia Yia) to her four grandchildren, Brandon Turner, Victoria Turner, Olivia Queri and A.J. Queri who brought her immense joy and light. She is also survived by her beloved brother, James (Theodora) Eliopoulos and a sister-in-law, Kalliopi Katholos along with several nieces and nephews.
Stavroula was predeceased by her dear brother, Louis Eliopoulos.
She was an incredible woman with the kindest heart. Selfless, warm, and full of love for her family and everyone around her. She connected with people through food whether cooking for customers at Harry’s Restaurant, preparing her grandchildren’s favorite meals, or lovingly making Greek desserts for friends, neighbors, and the doctors who cared for her. Food was her language of connection, generosity, and love.
Stavroula held a deep love for her faith and church community, where she found connection, purpose, and friendship throughout her life.
Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the family she raised, and the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In keeping with Stavroula’s wishes, funeral services will be private. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Haralambos in Oakwood Cemetery.
