Susie (Giannantonio) DeLorio's Obituary
Susie (Giannantonio) DeLorio, 94, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on Friday, December 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Susie was born in Abruzzo, Italy, daughter of the late Frank and Vittoria (Giambattista) Giannantonio, and emigrated to the United States in 1949. Susie, along with her husband of 73 years, Frank, operated the Midtown Shoe Repair in Solvay for many years. She enjoyed cooking, trips to the casino, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her biggest joy.
Along with her parents, Susie was predeceased by her siblings, and her son-in-law, Terry Watson.
Susie is survived by her loving husband, Frank DeLorio; her three daughters, Maryann Newman (Corbin Cox), Victoria Watson, and Julie (Charles) Mickle; grandchildren, Nicole (Andrew), Christina, Philip, Christopher, Ashley (Lynne), Samantha Victoria, Samantha Anne, and Eric (Paulena); great-grandchildren, Aveline, Theo, Athena, Skyler, Isabella, Mackenzie, and Riley; her sister, Anna Giannantonio; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Susie’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 9:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St. Syracuse. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Susie’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
